Quick poem. Please critique.

It's funny how
one unexpected dream
can make you fall in love.
I promised myself that I
would never put myself through this again
it's not worth the torment,
so I tell myself
"She is just an illusion"
and
"It's just a chemical process"
but deep down
I would still give my life to her.
