Checkered red and black
Life's a giant game board
You make the wrong move and you can't turn back
If it's right or wrong your'e never sure
Some battles can't be won
Some battles you run away from
Some days you try to move on
Other days you want to be gone
Can't decide whether your'e black or red
or even what the colors mean
All your pieces are scared to death
but they rush headlong into the unseen
Too many mistakes and the game is done
no more pieces to manipulate
No pain, no gain but once it's all gone
Do you find love or hate?
