                                                  Youth



Wrap your arms around me

and hold me for a minute.

Just long enough to make me

feel safe and loved.

I need to lay my head down and forget the world

or I may not make it through another day.

Hold my hand and make me feel young

and full of choices.

Today I can't bear knowing

I don't have any.

Your innocence lightens my heart,

you are a victim too.

Together we find solace

from a cruel world.
