See Mary in the Streets of Shame
looking innocent in the Underground,
filled with dreams of fortune and fame
a smile on her face, she seals her fate.

A little girl so young and sweet,
tastes like strawberries and cream
an image for the Patron Saint to sell
to anyone willing to pay

Give her 40 days and 40 nights
to find the needle in her vein,
lost in the land of make believe,
you'll find Mary walkin' the Boulevard
poachin' for Johns 'n turnin' tricks
under the watchful eye of her Patron Saint.
