Understanding shyness

As the title says. I used to be shy when I were younger.

Why do so many of us
Suffer with this incurable disease?
When we only want to communicate and please
Our family and friends.

We can't 'just snap out of it' and it's gone
Why does anyone think it's bad
And it's SO wrong?
It's only shyness.

We listen but don't talk
When the teacher picks up their chalk
We don't ignore you if we don't speak
We just find it hard, each day of the week.

Please Lord
Hear my Prayer so pure
Please help us find a cure
For shyness.
