Math can go in all directions.

I already have a negative number.
It is not a positive
position. I started out with a thought
of a prime number but you did not smile
or stop a beat-
so I thought how could I get you to
be my integer, my whole number, a factor
that I can count on, as surely as putting
one foot in front of another, like a cake
recipe one ingredient at a time. But you
won't give me a moment's notice. It was a zero game
until I saw you as a factor of two.
