a poem about an untold love. |
| I had once fallen in love With the man underneath the ash tree. Gentle he was, like a dove His was of a spirit, strong and free. His soft smile was melting warm, ‘tis something that brings light to my world. His gentle eyes were strong charms My knees weakened, I was bewildered. I had once fallen in love With the man underneath the ash tree. Everything I could think of Was him and all we could ever be. Kindness surrounded his face, It lifted everything around him. Ever warm was his embrace His soul and spirit was never dim. I had once fallen in love With the man underneath the ash tree. Tenderness was his, where of The sweet serene of oceans and seas. A small, feeble man was he, A chair on wheels gave his only stand. But he was all he could be For his hopes were of the countless sand Time had fallen and was shoved And the secret, he will never see, That I had fallen in love With the man underneath the ash tree. |
