Another night

Here is another night thinking of you.

I pick this time of night to write you when it is so quiet.

My thoughts are rich with admiration for all the sacrifices you make for us.

You are so far away from home and those that love you.

You took the call to duty with honor and courage.

We could never begin to tell you how much that means to us here.

From time to time we see some of you coming home and how your families wait at the airport to celebrate.

The long wait is over for them but if you are receiving this, your time must feel like an eternity.

There isn’t anything I can say to make the time pass quicker but if I could I would.

If I had one wish granted to me this evening; it would be to have all of you home and safe again.

May God bring you home soon

May you know you are loved and respected

May you hear our prayers carried on the wind
