A world traveler tells where her heart really belongs. |
| The Place Where I Belong I’ve seen the pyramids of Egypt And the waves of the Mediterranean Sea I’ve been in a gondola in Venice And surfed in the water of Hawaii I’ve sailed by the Statue of Liberty And the totem poles in a place near Nome But if I had a place I’d want to stay It would be right here at home sweet, home. I love the warmth I find inside. My bedroom has that special feel. The kitchen keeps me coming back For second helpings of the Thanksgiving meal. My family has the biggest heart Old stories are fun to hear And in my chair is Mikie, my cat And the sky outside is always clear. Someday I’ll have a home of my own I’ll settle down and appreciate The place that makes me feel complete So my foreign travels will have to wait. |
