A poem about paying for my mistakes and what I've done to those I love most of all. |
-The Darkness of Your Face- by Keaton Foster Embrace Certain hate The darkness of your face Relates No secrets kept I know So do most The truth conveyed Make me pay Banish me from life Wipe me clean Into the depths Place me cold Never to return Say no words Your silence will echo Eternity’s blissful reward Offer no prayer No lies of redemption No last ditch effort This is about consequences Mine, not yours Place the gun to my head Shove the knife into my chest Wrap your hands around my neck The means to my brutal end Concern me less The darkness of your face Will be enough Watching the one loved Turned into the one feared So much so that you Have been driven to such a place I do not blame you How could I ever Survival is a human right A side effect of existence I above all know that I did what I needed to And now I am gonna pay Maybe someday Long after this one You too will have to pay But until then It is just me that will face The end that you intend… The Darkness of Your Face Written by Keaton Foster Copyright © 2012. |
