when it lays its egg.

From the start it takes hold
of the body and soul,
and takes seconds for it's host
to lose control.

It's smart.

It's fast.

It does serious damage.

Once it starts spreading...
impossible to manage.

The colony satisfies a specific duty
when banishing the infected,
who are comparatively kooky.

For they know if they don't,
the whole settlement expires
and the parasite wins
while they're left in the mire.

My advice to you, friends,
choose your chums discreetly
because one might be deadly
and can change you completely.

You see,
those mates are like Cordyceps,
Invasive and toxic,
so, dispose of them quickly
before you lose all logic.
