Heartbreak

You loved and you lost.

The rain settles
And the water floods your eyes
Beginning a perpetual storm
As tears cascade down to the ground
think of all the mistakes
Could've done this
Should've did that
It's over
Sadly
But not without a lesson
Another chance maybe
Probably not
Coming to terms is only the second hardest
Realizing that you sacrificed the most amazing thing that ever stood in your presence is the real battle
Then the tears come back
And maybe a smile
Sudden realization that moving on takes a while
But forgetting and losing feelings is impossible
We stumble, search, and settle
In depression and angst
Trying to feel that void
Fighting the urge
To end it all
And Though the pain aches
You carry on with your life
