A Whisperer in the Darkness

The only witness to creation

A whisperer in the darkness
breathed a single word,
which only the whisperer heard.

No other was there to hear the "Be!"

Was it a musical note
that caused
the primordial atom
to condense...
out of what
darkness,
nothingness,
nonexistence?

Only the whisperer knows
the sound that echoed through the darkness,
knows what pressures
encouraged creation to explode
into galaxies,
stars,
planets,
and life.

The single witness to creation
did not write a press release,
but instead
placed the desire to know
into every
sentient creature
and self-aware life form.
