“A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.” (Form: Free Verse) |
| Pausing … “A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.1” And in between the first and last our winding path diverges on the way. We’d be a fool to think a pause was our destination. Ghost whispers guided us this far, a Cheshire cat’s smile illuminated the way, revealing footprints in the sand; words and thoughts left by weary travelers. This path has come to such a point; which onward trail we choose is not a reason for goodbye for all paths will merge again. Instead, we clasp the friends we’ve made and bid them each “until ...” A smile, a wave, perhaps a tear and the journey continues. Until our paths converge once more, “God speed.” An entry for Round 51, "Shadows and Light Poetry Contest" Line Count: 22 Form: FREE VERSE – in honor of Ren, Just Ren 1 Laozi ~ Chinese philosopher (c 604 bc - c 531 bc) |
