The end of summer (Form: Free Verse) |
| Summer Salutation The warmth of summer has peaked; the first blush of fall gathers in subtle shades of fire. The wind sighs in the branches, enjoying its last dance among the verdant leaves. Soon, it will swirl and twirl, laughing at the antics of its golden partners. The coneflowers, resplendent in brilliant yellows, call to the asters and mums: come out, share the moment that nature has chosen to repaint the landscape. The changing season reaffirms that all is well; the circle is unbroken; that life continues. An entry for Day 2, "Invalid Item" Prompt: Write a poem in the Inspirational or Nature genre. Include the words "peak" and "fire" Line Count: 19 |
