Whispers Of the Soul Poetry |
I wish you could have understood when I tried to stop you that night; not that it would have done any good, you said you would-you said you might. Young tokens of what could have been with a daring heart 'n hasty life- who was I to intervene? Left forsaken-a lonely wife. Even in my sleep my heart weeps as fruitless nights stop me from dreaming; reaching morning when the sun creeps and I see you there -your smile beaming. Now beyond anything I perceived; how do I live-me without you? Some how I have always believed our love was broken -you withdrew. It was a reckless heart that mattered Your weakness of a strangers bed yet I was left hurt and battered “I just can't stay”, is what you said Perpetual memories linger- a promise till death do us part. A golden band around my finger; me without you-where do I start? |
