this is a poem about an honest truth.

I have stood up for the weak,
And others who were infirmed.
Sometimes I wore a uniform,
In dessert storm,
Across the street,
while other times, I wore a jacket and a tank of air so descrete.

There were nights I would have rather been in bed,
Or drinking some adult beverage with friends instead,
Or out on a date with a nice woman or two,
But I gave that up so I could look out for those who couldn’t do.
I don’t need thank you ,or pay, or such,
Nor do I want it either or a single touch.

Who am I?
I am the police officer,
The firefighter,
The U.S. Marine,
The sailor,
Airman, or soldier,
You never noticed watching from the sides,
While you were being dumb , stupid, or just not right.

Just remember this,
While you are enjoying the life I provide,
The freedoms you enjoy,
Even the fact that you can’t divide,
That there are people who gave you that right tis true.
Who am I?
The American Constitution, and I stand for you.
