Writer's Cramp Entry January Due January 20 |
Based on a picture prompt: 24 lines simple rhyme The doe led the way out into the open drive Her tail she did not have to raise The buck knew he would survive To his Maker he would give the praise. Man had encroached upon his land He had nowhere else to go He knew man had the upper hand Years of being hunted told him so. Cautiously they all would cross the plane Having nothing behind which they could hide While doing so did seem insane There was water on the other side. Suddenly out of nowhere trouble came Darts flew through the air Despite their efforts they slept all the same It really did not seem fair. They came to inside a fence It was much to high to jump The field inside though was immense Their hopes had a little bump. Their lives would now be at the mercy of man Yet they would live to tell the tale If they had crossed the highway they were on It would have been disaster off the scale. 24 lines simple rhyme |
