simple poem about a lover's embrace and feeling protected. |
| COCOONED In the gossamer of my clouded recollections of you, One thing remains clearest --- It is your embrace. Encircled in your arms, Your being envelops me. We are two, but without separation. Unsure if it is One that has just divided Or two that is about to fuse. I am separate, but within you. And your natural warmth Thaws out skin and bones That has always been cold and damaged. And I sleep. Peaceful. Comforted and protected, And shielded from the abuses of this world. That is my cocoon. Exactly how an embrace should be. |
