He walked in with a cellphone and a suitcase. The note he presented read:

The bank is wired with explosives. It detonates by hitting SEND. Fill the case with $100s. No paint. No police. No pain.

They complied. He left, but returned 30 minutes later to be taken into custody.

He remained mute during his trial, and was sentenced to 15 years. Released after eight, it took another two for the FBI to tire of following him.

Entering another bank near the first, he emptied the safe deposit box. He had 1000 places to go, and a million to spend.
