Hunting Pine Cones

I inhale the chill of an autumn dawn

I inhale the chill of an autumn dawn,
sigh and sweep the cobwebs from my mind
try to push away another hour of sleep:
Try dormant childhood memories can I find?

Somewhere a bonfire burns and scarecrows dance:
They're either an animated movie or a dream?
Dare I go on the hunt for memories pine cones--
