Mount Marcy,
Over in the heart of the high peaks
Under a cloudless summer sky,
Nearer to heaven than I deserve
The peace of nature claims me.

Mount Marcy
Adirondack’s tallest tower
Rearing her green head
Calmed me and reminded me,
You are closer to God here.

Nearer to heaven than I deserve
Every step lightened my soul;
“Where you are, here I AM!”
