a poem about Mary Cassatt's painting of the same name |
| Taking a break from a day of play reclines a girl in a blue armchair. Tartan wrapped about her waist and a matching bow in her hair accent the feminine lace of her dress as she sprawls in her chair to have a rest. Her pup, fast asleep in the chair beside hers a small, fuzzy dog with black and tan fur exhausted from his jollification. The sofa and chair in the background still offer plenty of accommodation. For weary souls, rest may be found on furniture draped in florals on a sea of deep blue. About this poem: ▶︎ |
