The Makings Of Christmas

Within twenty three days we start to prep;
decorating with a spring in our step.
Snowy and frosty- time for the fire place,
a holiday spirit is making- grace.

Fresh scents of pine needles now in the air,
Christmas lights are glowing- giving a flare,
of prisms of colour twinkling-here and there.
On blankets of snow – lit up like a fair.

Cinnamon cookies cut into stars
with sweet bread and chocolate chip bars;
Oh- the treats that we eat during this time,
sprinkles ‘n frosting of all different kinds.

Wrapping the gifts with beautiful ribbon
with name tags in gold carefully written;
To and From with a special Santa greet,
nibbles for reindeer-their own special treat.

On that special morning giggles kick in-
eyes big as saucers from gifts wrapped within.
Stockings of fluff filled n stuffed to the top
with trinkets of sorts and sweet candy drops.
