In Berkeley, California,

Developed a time machine
Allowing them to go back
In time to investigate
Famous past paranormal events.

They chose to go back
To 1845 to investigate
The infamous ghost ship.

A passenger ship that disappeared
And was found later
With no people on it.

But a cryptic note
That they had been abducted
By monstrous beings from space.

They arrived on the ship
And introduced themselves
To the ship’s captain
Explaining they were
From the future and were there
To witness the arrival of the aliens.

A spaceship appeared
And beamed everyone aboard
And were taken away to become exhibits
In an alien zoo along with earth animals.

They were put in the great apes
Enclosure and had to negotiate
With the chimps and gorillas
Over where the humans
Would be allowed to stay.

Maria Lee his enigmatic boss
Told them she might be able
To free them and steal a ship
To take them back.

As she was a shapeshifting alien
She said,

“She couldn’t wait for what happened next.”
