A place to put poetry in classical forms like sonnets, paradelles etc.
Kathleen-613's creation for my formal poetry book

Just a separate drawer for poetry written in classic forms. I am going to try some of the formal poetry styles for exercise; although, I feel like an intruder inside the magical palace of the privileged royalty. Timidly though it may be, sometimes I attempt to write such things, maybe just to laugh at my own ineptitude.

As much as I dislike anything that binds and limits, I can recognize the benefit that some discipline may add to one's writing. Let's see how far I can go even if I may have to horsewhip myself to add to this folder.

"ELY
The strawberry grows underneath the nettle
And wholesome berries thrive and ripen best
Neighbour'd by fruit of baser quality:
And so the prince obscured his contemplation
Under the veil of wildness; which, no doubt,
Grew like the summer grass, fastest by night,
Unseen, yet crescive in his faculty.

CANTERBURY
It must be so; for miracles are ceased;
And therefore we must needs admit the means
How things are perfected."
William Shakespeare
From Henry V

Then, as Horace says:
                    "Flevit amores
                    Non elaboratum ad pedem"

Meaning: She lamented her loves in unpolished meter.

Exactly!
