A poem about Death and our mortality

You in the darkness of the night sky
are you overpower yourself
when you look down on us mortals
there is still an empty place behind your back
or maybe it is even more

Red soulless eyes with splashes of amber inside
The Dragon of Death pulls forward seemingly tireless
and faithful to his calling
to shepherd the lambs condemned to death
to walk the aisle

Riding through the night in his eternal mission
the poor souls trembling in their agony
unaware of what is about to happen next
Is it evil or good, a relief or more suffering
not a single thing differs in this eternal hunt
.
I have met him in the darkness more than once
and I have no fear, have accepted the rules
no human soul escapes the ride of Death
Then when fear fills the gaze of everyone
my quiet reflection meets the finitude of life
