Elevator Pitch

The lights flickered as the elevator jerked to a halt.

"Shit!" I exclaimed. I don't think she even noticed.

"Hey," I said softly, "it'll be alright. I'm John."

Her emerald eyes locked with mine, a mischievous smile played at her lips as her hand moved from the control panel.

"Well, John," she murmured, "I guess we're stuck... Whatever will we do?"

I cleared my throat. "I think we should just-"

"Hey guys," the speaker crackled to life, "we'll have you going up again in a few minutes."

"So soon?" She laughed playfully. "Going down sounds like more fun to me!"
