For me, words are like hundreds of different candies wrapped in beautiful opaque foils, waiting to be picked from a large bowl. I pick words I like most and keep combining them with new and different words until I have a line of verse or a sentence for a story. I live in a rural area of South Carolina. I have four quarter horses that are like large dogs. My property is adjacent to a forest with coyotes, deer, foxes, snakes, hawks, raccoons and other wild animals.
