Just shooting the poop with Lori
He travels the world on the backs of others
Insignificant in his stature and size
His journey carries no mission
Randomly roaming at the will of his host
Sated enough to never question his trek
Life is an open adventure without worry
If the excitement of his dusty trail dulls
Another bus awaits to grant passage
With a furry friend to carry him home
Ah the wonderful life of a flea

Laundry day
It fills me with dread
Makes me sick in the head
Not an all day affair, I pray

But by the piles, that I see
All the shark farted drawers
And the stain lifting chores
It;s gonna take the best of me

That burn will nip you in the bum! The cold wind that whistles down your spine. and sets you teeth to chattering has descended upon us. Winter's early visitation has caught me unprepared. My coats all need washing and my long johns are still folded in the storage bins from Spring's arrival. So I shiver waiting for the dryer to warm my togs and banish my inner chill I sip hot chocolate with a promise that dances in my head. Next year, I will switch my seasonal clothes at the slightest hint of winter.

I haven't mentioned the antics of my dogs lately. Dimitri, the Lab/German shepherd mix of ours, is a quite large and beautiful dog. He is also very spoiled and is sure to grab the attention of any person in the room. He speaks with the voice of Scooby-doo, a loud, low, grumbling of intense drama. His every need must be acknowledged for the grumbling to cease. He loves to have his paws petted and as you comply he moans a happy purr of love, which is a lower softer form of the original grumble. Pushing his paw away after finishing the task earns the plunging of the second paw in your vicinity. This can go on for several minutes. When the second dog wants attention, Dimitri noses him forcefully out of the way, grumbling the entire time. He howls and grumbles a whole conversation to the other dog and then to his people, seeming to debate all of the reasons why he needs all of the attention. It is quite the comical scene. Vladimir, our beagle/lab mix, waits patiently for his turn. We sometimes have to gate off the big one just so Vladi can have some loving. . I wouldn't trade these dogs for anything, but they wear me out.

I love games, games of all kind, Cards, word games, board games, and party games are the best way for families to spend time with each other. When my kids were little each Christmas they all got at least one game, that we took turns playing over the holidays. It was a great way to teach sharing, taking turns, and sportsmanship. I still buy them games each year, just not Quack goes the duck ones. My daughter came in tonight for a visit and the first words out of her mouth after telling me what a rough week she had, "Can we play a game?" And of course we did. My son visited last week and asked the same question.Last week we pulled out the trivial pursuit from our era. My husband and I did great. The boys NOT SO MUCH. I think it is safe to say that I have managed to pass on my love of games to the offspring. I am starting to wish the print on the cards was larger though!

The movie started without warning. No time was given to grab the popcorn and hot chocolate. The blistery adventure started while I wasn't looking. The saga was cold and frightening sending chills up my spine.. Debuting with icy wetness, blowing winds, and dropping temperatures is old man winter. Nature arranged a premier viewing of winter in my part of the world. I give it a negative 2 stars for dismount. Baby, its cold outside!

Did you know that creativity pulsates like a beating heart? It lives in all of us but the method of pursuit varies. Two painters do not vision the same field of lilies nor do the dancers hear the same symphony. Imagination is unique unto the individual.Art blossoms from the empty recesses of our minds and flourishes when shared. There is a quiet bravery that exists within the artist willing to release the beauty imagined.Creativity shared is a heart shared. So write the story never told, the poetry that never rhymes, or the lyrics that have never turned to song. There will always be one soul that your tune will resonate upon with the beating of a heart.

A weekend of Bowling, and not so fantastic bowling. We had to catch up with our Sunday league. Nine games of bowling and my arm is mush. Now I still haven't gotten a new washer, so I also toted 2 tubs of clothes to the laundry mat. It is amazing how much wear and tear our muscles withstand. The older we get the more they bark about the overuse. A hot bath and Icy Hot were my friends tonight.

My kids drop in just about every weekend. We visit, play games, feed them, and catch up on the things going on in their lives. This is precious time spent in my mind. It means they like coming home and still feel comfortable sharing their heartaches and joys. I actually get a bit giddy when I know that they are on their way. Family life, there is nothing better.
