| I am beginning this on October 29,2025 at just after 5 PM. Central Daylight Time in the little town of De Soto, Kansas. I will have to leave for work at about 8 PM and work from 9 PM to 5 AM tomorrow. I have the privilege of driving railroad crews around in the rail yard, to and from the trains. I listen to a Gospel radio station while I drive, so far no one has complained. Today in my devotions I read where Eliakim, son of Hilkiah to be the king of Judah. I had never heard of this king so I looked him up on Google and here is what I found. "Eliakim son of Hilkiah was an important figure during the reign of King Hezekiah of Judah. Eliakim was known for his role as royal steward during a tremendous political and military crisis. His service in Hezekiah's administration, particularly during the Assyrian siege of Jerusalem, reveals his significance as a faithful and trusted leader. Eliakim’s actions demonstrate wisdom, loyalty, and trust in God. During his brief but significant presence in the Bible during a challenging time, Eliakim models the steadfastness of those who sought to defend the city and its people." God used Eliakim as messenger between King Hezekiah and Isaiah for God's instructions for the battle against the of Assrtia and his spokes person, Rabshakeh. Therefore in Isaiah 22:21 we read where Eliakim is elevated to, father to those who live in Jerusalem” When we really give our hearts to God and follow Him, He will do far more with our lives than we can ever ask or even imagine. When we look at the life of David? He was just a young man tending his father's sheep and became King over all of Israel. All because he followed God leading in his life. I am not saying he was perfect in every way but he did what God had called him to dol |
