Does anyone on here from USA know what Project 2025 is supposed to be? |
Also not a USian, but have looked into this. It is a scary proposition and, interestingly, for one of the very few times I will say this, the Wikipedia article articulates it well. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_2025 The idea is, essentially, making the USA into a Christian Theocracy. Some proposals not in the article include excluding non-Christians from any government job. One paper I read said it would make atheism illegal. So I would be breaking the law just by my lack of belief. The same paper said science classes in schools would need to have Biblical backing. But - hey! - the USians clearly want it, because it is headed by Bannon, Trump's ally, and USians said they will vote for a convicted felon because the other guy is too old and doddery. |
It's a very detailed plan by the Conservative think tank Heritage Foundation, to reinvent the USA as a more conservative nation. It proposes a state religion (conservative Christian), human rights limited to the Bible (their conservative interpretation), gutting the federal civil service and making it political. From Wikipedia: "Critics of Project 2025 have characterized it as an authoritarian, Christian nationalist plan to transform the United States into an autocracy. Many legal experts have asserted it would undermine the rule of law, the separation of powers, the separation of church and state, and civil liberties." There's much more. The Wiki article is useful because the full text is over 900 pages. Preamble of sorts... Those four fronts include: Restore the family as the centerpiece of American life and protect our children. Dismantle the administrative state and return self-governance to the American people. Defend our nation’s sovereignty, borders, and bounty against global threats. Secure our God-given individual rights to live freely—what our Constitution calls “the Blessings of Liberty.” The Four Fronts disguise details that would make it illegal for some folks to peacefully coexist... imho. It seems to me to emphasize individuality and state rights over a national identity of collective actions based on consensus. It has been proposed as a GOP platform and a way the next GOP president can proceed. Trump seems to be sceptical. |
Thank you all for the information. It's what I thought was happening. I dont want either one running! |
Posting a poem I wrote a few days ago. I have been depressed and this came to me when I was resting. It would not let me rest until I wrote it down. I don't normally write poetry.

I find myself "waking up" to write something down. If I don't... It feels like a song. Keep it and work on it! |
