I am Lanka Siriwardana from the most beautiful island named Sri Lanka.I am fond of writing Haiku and I have received few recognitions so far I am doing a fb page named Sri Lankan haiku too. All writers are welcome to enjoy my haiku and all reviews are embraced with love

What is your preferred style of haiku? Many here write American ku of 17 syllables 5-7-5. I prefer a more Japanese style based on two parts juxtaposed with season words. I will respond to your haiku. I think I have the word for May/June: iris. In Thailand it would be jasmine. In Costa Rica the guardia morada (orchid) in March. As a child... on my knees... hyacinths or dandelions in April. Each holds cherished memories.
