The Truth Hurts

realizing the obvious can hurt so bad

I had to let go
of what was one of the most
important people in my life.
It wasn't really much of a choice
since the truth had always been there.
Long distance love only travel so far
and can only go one of two ways.
You either take a path that leads you together
or a road that guides you away.
Sometimes objects get thrown in the path
and you work together to clear the way.
Other times you both finally realize
the road blocks are permanent facts.
And although it still hurts,
I know with time it will heal
as time...heals all things.
