Poem about life and accomplishment
The clock chimed, and I saw that time
had passed me by. The clock tics,
and I hear it's tock, I'm reminded that
time travels in a line.

My life is before me, and it's also behind,
so a lifetime goes.  Before long time was
short, the line behind me was longer.
The clock chimed, and time passed me by.

Time passed, and the line of time became
longer.  There wasn't a lot of time left; and
I still have not had my moment of splendor.
Then I realized it was I who had chimed,
and time was still ahead, and not just behind.
