A brief poem expressing the deep affections between two people
You were the wind beneath my waves

Constantly pushing for them to attack the shore

A brief embrace, before they become no more.

You were the silence in every storm

Between every lost sailor’s scream and siren’s song.

You were salt,

and I was the sea.

Every ounce of you is somehow embedded in me

Now, seductive blue at the depth of dusk

Your shimmering view at the brink of dawn

My waters lay still,

because you’ve lost where you belong
