I was born to sail the seas
I have sailed the seven seas
For forty years and more
I have traveled countless lands
Walked every foreign shore

I have skippered every craft
From skiff to ketch to yacht
I can use the boson’s pipe
Tie every kind of knot

I was born to sail the seas
It is my love to roam
Just put me on a sailing ship
The ocean is my home

I crave the rocking ‘neath my feet
And breathing salty air
I’ll weather any kind of storm
Without a single care

I use the stars to navigate
So I can sail at night
But I never can remember
… is starboard left or right?
