The running of the elephants revived. |
| Elephant Race—watch if you dare; see how all the elephants fare in this event that is for fun, unique it is for everyone, from China, France, most everywhere. And check out what the runners wear; it’s cool the elephants prepare as they get set for their own run— Elephant Race. Perhaps it is too much to bear in pressing heat and solar glare. Yet sure enough when they are done, past when they hear the starter’s gun, they gather ‘round with much to share— Elephant Race. 15 Lines (Rondeau*) Writer’s Cramp 5-11-20 *[The rondeau is composed of fifteen lines, eight to ten syllables each, divided stanzaically into a quintet, a quatrain, and a sestet. The refrain consists of the first few words or the entire first line of the first stanza, and it recurs as the last line of both the second and third stanzas. Two rhymes guide the music of the rondeau, whose rhyme scheme is as follows (R representing the refrain): aabba aabR aabbaR.]
