Prince Crimson isn't sure how to feel about Archemorus. (Ember is.) |
"There he was. A towering dragon with coal-black eyes, and ebony-colored scales stood before us." That's the last thing I said last time. (And the last thing you'll say...) (i apologize for Ember's partfarticipation in this book.) Imagine an enormous castle, but 10 times bigger. That's practically his size. Archemorus looked down at us with a smile, but not in the way that you would think. It's more of a "half-menacing, half-normal" way, instead of "just a normal smile" A single drop of sweat ran down my cheek. "Thanks, you two. That feels infinitely better." He looked at himself, then us again. "I've... grown." "Legend's wrong. He's the size of a mountain." I thought, deadpan. Ember leaped at Archemorus, yelling, "DIE, YOU BEAST!" only to be inevitably thrown on the ground. Me, completely ignoring the fact that Ember was slammed on the ground and probably some of his bones were broken, said, "Well, that fits you being trapped in a dungeon for 600 years, underneath a mountain for 1000 years, and in a different realm for 5000 years." "Somebody knows their history." Archemorus paused. "Was it really that long?" I gave him my mythology book. "See for yourself." "The second part is rubbish." "DO NOT SUMMON, EXTREMELY DANGEROUS CREATURE" he said in a whiny voice. Archemorus flipped to "Conversion: Age -> Size (dragons)" "I grew 2389 feet. Interesting." "And terrifying." Ember said, slowly regaining energy. I considered both point of views valid, if not a bit biased. Valid because if I had grown 2400 feet, I would find it interesting, while others would find it terrifying. Biased because it really matters who you are and who you live with. I then realized it was practically a miracle that he even acknowledged us, because we look like beetles compared to him. But you'd probably realize that there's a beetle in whichever room you're reading in, because of the stupid buzzing noise. Hopefully, we don't make that noise. Thankfully, he was a manageable size (not to you, tiny humans) to fit in the palace. "Well, I'm off to the kingdom," Archemorus said. This.. would be a problem for a number of reasons. (1) He's a towering black dragon who looks nothing like anybody else. (2) He's a towering black dragon that looks nothing like anybody else. But I realized there was absolutely nothing I could do. (not ending up like ember, thank you.) He walked out of his temple, and at this point, the furniture looked like toys compared to him, even though they were still unnecessarily large to us. |
