| Baked Potatos Ingredients: One baked potato per person, I usually use Russets Directions: Wash each potato thoroughly; remember the skin is edible, so get them really clean. Allow the potatoes to dry. Either pierce each potato several times, or use a tool like this: ![]() Do not wrap them in foil. THAT WILL STEAM THEM RATHER THAN BAKING THEM In Oven: Preheat oven to 450 Degrees. Place the potatoes on a lined baking sheet Cook for 30 minutes, then turn the potatoes over. Cook for an additional 30 minutes. Potatoes are done when you can squeeze them easily. On the Bar-B-Que: Prepare the grill for indirect cooking. All of the coals are on one side of the grill; half of the grill has no coals. Place the potatoes on the side of the grill with no coals Place the lid on the BBQ. Bake for 60 minutes. You can rotate them if you like. Potatoes are done when you can squeeze them easily. Notes: Some people roll the potatoes in salt before baking, but we don't, as we try to control our salt intake, and I do eat the skins. Serve with butter, salt, and pepper, sour cream, and whatever grated cheese pleases you as you wish. Lenore eats them straight up without adornment. |
