my name is michael downes. I was born and reared in Northern Ireland, but have lived in Australia for the last forty odd years or more travelling from state to state, toiling at any job I could find, and soaking up the experience. I started writing part time in the late 1970's. I have written four novels, a collection of novellas, a full length play and about 80 short stories. I will be publishing my fourth volume of short stories hopefully next month.
