{They always knew there was more to the world But those treasures had always eluded them Not matter how hard they searched Now, they were frozen in place Fear gripping their hearts and minds Trying to comprehend what they were seeing What they had done Never before had this window shown anything Other than the fields outside, the treeline barely visible But today it was different Today was special To open the world to such a sight Both beautiful and terrifying in unison the vast carpet of stars Led to orbs that glowed amongst them Firecrackers of exploding stars Rarely seen by naked eyes Like watching a display of lights, twisting and turning Mesmerising but horrific at the same time Lights drawing closer to the window Just a plain window Drawn with dull curtains and musty odour Paint peeling Now glistening in the universes gaze The attention undivided Yet not unwarranted Who had opened the window, no one knew Who opened the window, no one cared They had opened a terror so beautiful It tugged at them, daring them To climb through and float through the beauty To float through eternity and what lay beyond Their conscious minds enthralled They still stood, mesmerised The urge to fly ran through them all Despite the death that surely awaited them/center} |
