In a parallel dimension

When two worlds collide

Here I am with something to say,
On this, the most wonderful day,
Now you could blame it on booze,
But, I swear it's the truth,
That they came, and took me away.

What had I done of real worth-
in twenty five years on this Earth?
I pondered in bliss,
Why reward me like this,
As I stewed in the bunk, in my berth.

But, as soon as the journey was over,
The ship's little engine went nova,
Now there's now going back,
And you saw in the black,
The flare, that called you all over.

I saw your confusion,
As you reached the conclusion,
That I had to be mad,
Or criminally bad,
Warranting lifetime seclusion.

So, here I am trapped in your cage,
Trying hard not to rant or to rage,
I'll just close my eyes,
When the time comes to die,
As we'd do the same in your place!
