Drabble 16

Story to feature a vampire, werewolf, ghost and/or zombie.

Blood dripped into the padre's upturned face as he surveyed the scene before him.

Men, and the occasional woman, looked at him solemnly, waiting for his instructions — he'd been trained, a lifetime ago, but he'd never thought—

Twelve minutes ago, the hypothetical became real.

And now, as the howling grew louder, he knew they had one chance left.

"Point defence to auto," he said, trying to keep his hands from shaking as he triggered the 1MC. "Vampire! Vampire!" All hands—brace for shock!"

The ship rocked.

"Miss. Miss," the seaman's voice sounded strangely calm.

He closed his eyes, and prayed.
