PROMPT July 12th

We've all done it. At least I have. Write about a time you were inappropriately dressed for the occasion.

I guess my first recollection of this occurring was when I was in elementary school. My mom got a lot of my clothes at a thrift store. Well she thought it would be a cute idea for me to wear a poodle skirt because she had one when she was young. I didn’t know any better, and I thought it was cute. So I wore it to school one day. That didn’t go over so well. I got made fun of to the point of tears and never wore the dress again.

Another occasion I can think of is one day when mom’s car broke down. I had worn a dress with dress shoes, and we ended up walking 5 miles home. I had blisters on my feet by the time we got there. However, that is the day I learned the important lesson to always wear the proper shoes for the occasion.

PROMPT July 11th

Write a headline you’d love to read in tomorrow’s newspaper.

We have found a cure for Cancer and Covid 19. We never have to worry about these diseases killing anyone ever again.

Hey, if I am going to dream, I may as well dream big. Oh and I wouldn't object to another stimulus payment either. It is kind of nice to have my bank account stimulated. 😊

Free healthcare for everyone would be a nice headline too.

Scripture writing - Isaiah 61:1-3

Scripture:
1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.

Observations:
Verse 1- The Spirit of God anointed the prophet to preach good tidings, bind broken hearts, proclaim liberty, and to free prisoners.
Verse 2- He was also anointed to comfort those who mourn and proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.
Verse 3- He was also anointed to give joy in place of sorrow.

Application:
Praise God when you are feeling depressed. These are the things the Lord desires for you. He wants us to be joyfully free.

Prayer:
Dear God,
Give me joy in my heart. Teach me to choose joy. Help me to remember to put on the garments of praise for the spirit of heaviness.
In Jesus’s name,
Amen

This is one of those days when I feel tired and week. I am trying to force myself to do what needs to be done in spite of how I feel. We all have days like this. I feel like I have been a little out of it lately due to stress and brain fog. So if my typing is a little off, you will know why. There have been 11 people I have known in some way die since January of this year. I am so tired of funerals. I don't know how many more I can stand to watch or attend, nor do I really want to find out. I think I am getting kind of soul tired if that makes any sense. I feel like I could use a break of some kind, but I am not even sure what I need at this point. I am feeling kind of depressed and it seems like the bad news just keeps coming.

I need to remember to put on the garments of praise for the spirit of heaviness. I am trying to train myself to do this. So, I know that God has got this too. He has not left me alone in this spiritual battle. He is good and will work every thing out for my good. He has the best possible plans for me. If I continue to follow him, he will bring those good plans to pass. I love him and he loves me. He desires every good thing for me. Every good gift comes from him. He is so faithful and worthy of every praise. What an awesome God I serve! He has everything under control. He keeps me in the palm of his hand. He delivers me out of all trouble. He allows me to feel his presence and he is strong when I am week.

Take UP Your Cross

Prompt:
Should churches enforce strict attendance policies with their members? Should there be special considerations? What do you think?

Example: A church will bring up for a vote the continued membership of a member if a member has not attended a church service for 3 months. If they want to continue to be a member of the church, they must write a letter explaining their situation. The pastor will give his recommendation to keep or vote out this church member. The church will then vote on rather that member remains a member or if their membership is discontinued.

Answer:
This is sort of an actual scenario, but I was curious as to how others thought about the subject. I mean, I get that you want to enforce forsake not the assembly of yourselves together, but I am disturbed by this situation. Something doesn't feel right about it to me. I can also understand trying to weed out inactive members too, but there should at least be a proper procedure put into place so that you are still loving others, and not being judgemental or something. I don't know. Something just isn't right with that picture to me. If this is going to be done, shirly there is a better method that can be put into place. As it is now, it seems kind of cold and calloused.

PROMPT July 10th

What are you particularly passionate about within your career/job? If you are retired, what were you passionate about in your job when you retired?

I am not working, but I am not exactly retired either at the moment. However, I have always been passionate about the way others are treated, customers and employees alike. I have tried to have the attitude, even when working in fast food, that I may have the ability to make or break someone’s day. I always have tried to be the one to put a smile on my face even when I really didn't feel like it. I have tried to control my temper. I have usually been the one to walk away even if I was in tears to control my temper. Some people see this as a sign of weakness, but believe me when I tell you sometimes it takes more control to walk away and cry than it does to stay in the situation and let your temper have it's way.

It seems a bit crazy, but I am more afraid that I will hurt someone else than I am of being hurt in a fight if push comes to shove. I won't fight unless I absolutely have to. And if I do fight, I am likely to enter in a blind rage. I don't want that. That is a scary thought to me.

Another thing, if employees don't treat the customers right, how do they expect to continue to earn a paycheck if they run all the customers off? I see so much carelessness as of late. If there are no customers, there is no business. If there is no business, there is no paycheck.

Scripture writing - Isaiah 42:5-7

Scripture:
5 Thus saith God the Lord, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:
6 I the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;
7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.

Observations:
Verse 5- God created the heavens and the earth.
Verse 6- The Lord wants us to be righteous. He will hold our hands and walk with us as he leads us down the path of righteousness for his name sake.
Verse 7- He does this so that the blind may see and prisoners of sin can be set free.

Application:
I think Verse 6 says it all. The Lord wants us to be righteous. He will hold our hands and walk with us as he leads us down the path of righteousness for his name sake.

Prayer:
Dear God,
Thank you for saving me. It is so comforting to know you do not leave me alone or to my own devices to do your will. You actually hold our hand and walk with us. Thank you for your love.
In Jesus’s name,
Amen

You just scored a spot on a major competition TV show that makes its participants do the craziest things. You're partnered up with a handsome but over-confident stranger who, you decide, you instantly despise. Can you work together to win the day and the huge prize?

I will at least make a good attempt at it. It isn’t like I have to deal with him ever again after the show. So I can put my difference aside for that long.

Take UP Your Cross

Prompt:
Why do some people find it so hard to trust God’s plan with their lives?

Answer:
I believe the Bible even answers this question. They are blinded by sin.

2 Corinthians 4:4
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

John 3:19-20
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

John 12:39-40
39 Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,
40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

Ephesians 4:17-19
17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

PROMPT July 9th

We've all had a mentor or two in our lives. Tonight, write about the first person that ever believed in you

My mom had a younger friend who also had children. Her friend’s name was Faye. I was an only child so my mom would bring me over to Faye’s house quite often to play with her daughters who were just a little younger than I was. They would have their adult visits while us kids played.

Faye noticed a few things my mom wasn't teaching me. She thought it might be because my mom didn't have an understanding of those things. So Faye took me under her wing like another daughter.

She taught me how to match my clothes and a few other things so that I would not get made fun of at much at school. She also made me a sun dress and fixed my hair for special occasions.

Then during the summer after I was in 5th grade, she moved with her family out of state. A few years later she was killed tragically by an accident involving a combine.

Scripture writing - Hebrews 2:14-18; 12:1-3

Scripture:
Hebrews 2:14-18
14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

Hebrews 12:1-3
1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

Observations:
Verse 2:14- Jesus became flesh to defeat the devil.
Verse 2:15- Jesus also came to deliver us out of the bondage of sin.
Verse 2:16- He could have taken the nature of angels but instead chose to take on the nature of man.
Verse 2:17- He chose man’s nature to be a faithful high priest for us and be merciful.
Verse 2:18- He is able to help us in our flesh because he endured temptation also.

Verse 12:1- Let us lay aside sin and patiently do the will of God.
Verse 12:2- Christ endured the cross for the greater joy that was set before him.
Verse 12:3- We can draw strength from the fact that Christ suffered just like we do.

Application:
We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us because he has already done it before us.

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Help me endure my race to the end and to finish it completely. Let me be willing to give everything for you. Let me be willing and able to endure suffering for you if and when that time ever comes. I love you, and I never want to be separated from you.
In Jesus’s name,
Amen

“Long has paled that sunny sky:
Echoes fade and memories die:
Autumn frosts have slain July.

Still she haunts me, phantom wise,
Alice moving under skies
Never seen by waking eyes.”
― Lewis Carroll

What comes to mind when you Lewis Carroll's poem about July?

How does autumn frost slay July? This is the first thing coming to my mind. July is long gone by the time Autumn arrives unless I have missed something somewhere.

“It's so hard to forget pain, but it's even harder to remember sweetness. We have no scar to show for happiness. We learn so little from peace.” ― Chuck Palahniuk, What do you think?

I think maybe we need to stop focusing so much on the negative and just maybe then we can remember more of the positive. If we can learn from peace then maybe we wouldn't have to have so much war. If we pay close enough attention, then yes we can lead a lot from peace. I have to disagree with the quote.

Remembering sweetness just takes a bit more effort than remembering pain, but you have to put forth the effort. Maybe the marks (scars) aren’t visible because instead of doing damage, they heal. Even small random acts of kindness to strangers still leave an impact somewhere even if you don't personally see them.

Oh to have a pom pom crab
I can take him as my pet

My motivation is all set.

Scripture writing - Galatians 5:1 and 13-15

Scripture:
1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

Observations:
Verse 1- Don't get tangled into the bondage of sin again once Christ has set you free. Stay away from it.
Verse 13- Don’t use your liberty in Christ as an excuse to sin. Use it to love one another instead.
Verse 14- All the ław is fulfilled in loving others as yourself.
Verse 15- If you fight and argue and abuse one another, you will destroy each other.

Application:
Love others.

Prayer:
Dear God,
Thank you for loving us. Help us to love others the way you love them. Help us to also love ourselves the way you love us so that we can give your love to others.
In Christ’s name,
Amen

Prompt:
Who is a person of faith that you look up to and inspires you?

Answer:
I would say that an ex-pastor of mine is that person for me. His name is Reverend David Brooks Sr. Even though he is no longer my pastor, I know I can go to him with anything. He is a true man of God. He is one of those people that you can feel the Holy Spirit’s presence whenever you are around him. I still love to hear him preach. He is no longer my pastor because life happened and I moved out of the area where his church was at. He is still a reliable friend and minister and has been there for me when no one else was. I look at him like a spiritual father.

PROMPT July 7th

We've all had them, good and bad. Write about the best boss you’ve ever had.

I have had a lot of good bosses over the years. It is hard for me to think of just one. I have had way more jobs than I probably should have. I guess thinking back, I do have one that stands out a little bit.

I worked for Walgreens as a pharmacy technician for a little bit. The head pharmacist there was a pretty fun boss to have. I really enjoyed working with her. She is only a few months older than me and we had a lot in common. During slow periods, sometimes we had a chance to talk while we were working together.

Another boss that stands out in my memory was a boss I had when I was a shift manager at McDonald's. The store manager was fun to work with and easy to get along with. This was a period of personal growth. She had a big part in that.

One more that stands out in my mind was a manager I worked with at Taco Bell. She had a good attitude no matter how stressed she got. She got so stressed at this job that one day she had an aneurysm. Thankfully, I had had previous management experience and knew what to do when she had passed out on the job.

You know? Thinking back, I may have had a lot of different jobs and not stayed at one job very long, but I can kind of see where God used me at each one or grew me. I can see shifts in my life or that I was needed at a specific time for a specific reason. I can think back on people I have interacted with. I can think about times I was able to brighten someone’s day with a simple smile and great customer service. I can think of people I went out of my way to help and people who went out of their way to help me. You just never know who’s life you will touch. No job is insignificant.

Scripture writing - Galatians 4:3-7

Scripture:
3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:
4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

Observations:
Verse 3- When we are children, we can not understand salvation so we are in bondage to sin and worldliness.
Verses 4 and 5- But when we are old enough, we can understand that Jesus is come so we may become the children of God.
Verse 6- We have the spirit of Jesus in our hearts crying out to God our Father.
Verse 7- We are no more servants to sin, but heirs of God with Jesus.

Application:
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus in us. We become one with him and are then the children of the most High God.

Prayer:
Dear God,
Thank you for sending Jesus to us, to live with us. Thank you for being such a great father.

Amen

Ok, maybe I am a bit slow today. Is this about a friendship or lovers? If they are just friends, where does cheating come in? I am a bit confused. Day 3156: July 7, 2021

Prompt: Write about July at its best and/or at its worst.

I guess I am not one to dwell on such things. July and every month is what it is. Of course, I can say these recent last 5 years in general have been rough for me. 2021 is trying to out due them all. There have been at least 10 people that I knew die since January of this year. That doesn't mention, my health issues and health issues others I know are facing or any of the other craziness that has gone on this year. It is all starting to run together on me. I should write about all the craziness in just the last six months of my life. I can not say I have had a boring life on the bright side. 🤪

Where is a place that God feels most present to you?

Answer:
I don't know that I have one specific place. I feel his presence often. I guess you could say if the circumstances are right, church would be a specific place. I have honestly felt his presence the most in my bedroom when I have my quiet time with him. Also when I am in a state of worship, I feel his presence wherever I am at.

PROMPT July 6th

Women: What is your makeup routine? Men: Tell us about your daily routine to prepare for the day.

Not all of us women wear makeup. I only wear it on a rare occasion. I sweat too much. It would smear all over my face. Plus, I really hate it when it gets into my eyes. When I do put it on, it is usually light and only what is necessary for the occasion.

My mother and grandmother believed wearing makeup was a sin. So I only started wearing it when I was 16 and it was highly discouraged. They said it was wrong because that is what the evil queen Jesabell wore.

Ok, yes, she wore make-up. However, I don't think it is a sin to wear it. I think it is a gray area where God looks on what is in the heart. I think if you are just wearing it to look nice, there is nothing wrong with it. God wants us to look our best. If you are wearing to be sexually appealing to different men, there is an issue with that. Men are definitely looking at that outward appearance, and these days some other women too, but God looks on the heart. It is more important what God sees then what man sees. We should remember this.

Scripture writing - Galatians 3:21-29

Scripture:
21 Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.
22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Observations:
Verse 21- The Laws of God do not go against his promises. If ther3 would be any law that could be given to grant salvation, salvation could not be obtained by grace.
Verse 22- The promise of Salvation by faith is fulfilled when we believe in Jesus.
Verse 23- The law was kept before faith came.
Verse 24- The law is what taught us to come to Christ.
Verse 25- We have no need to remain bound by the law once we are in Christ.
Verse 26- We are God's children by our faith in Jesus.
Verse 27- We put on Christ’s nature and characteristics.
Verse 28- We are all one in Christ.
Verse 29- We are of Abraham's descendants through faith in Christ.

Application:
God's law shows us we need Christ as our Savior.

Prayer:
Dear God,
Let me always live a life that is full of faith in Jesus Christ. Thank you for adopting and choosing me to be your child.
In Jesus ‘s name,
Amen

Prompt:
Tell a moment in your life you knew God was real.

Answer:
There have been several moments in my life where God has made himself real to me. One experience I will share was pretty awesome! One evening, I was in my room and just singing random songs out of the Baptist Hymnal I had. I was singing the hymns from my heart and just worshipping God. I am totally unaware of how long I was at it.

As I was singing, God's glory and presence came down around me like a misty cloud and filled my room. It was like the Holy Spirit wrapped himself around me like a warm blanket. I continued to praise him. A friend of mine was there and witnessed it. She just watched in stunned silence. She told me later that I was prophesying. I have no recollection of that. I just remember worshipping and basking in his presence. It was like I was in some kind of trance or in another world. I just enjoyed the intimate moment with God until the mist lifted. I will never forget it.

PROMPT July 5th

You’re out with friends for the evening and have ended up at a Karaoke Bar. You’ve all agreed you will sing at least one song. What song will you sing? Why that one?

This one is kind of a difficult one for me. I don't sing much karaoke. I have sang it twice in my life, I think. Lol I sing more gospel songs in church. I have nothing against karaoke though. Maybe I should try it more often.

If I had to make a choice, I would probably sing something from the eighties or a country song because that is what I am most familiar with. Reba is my favorite country singers, so maybe I could sing one of her songs. She has several good ones. Or I could sing Dolly Parton’s version of I Will Always Love You. I think I could sing that song really well and with feeling.

I have an adventurous spirit. I would at least try it once. I would not be able to guarantee the outcome though, especially if I had never practiced that song before.🤷‍♀️

Scripture writing - Ephesians 1:3-10

Scripture:
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:

Observations:
Verse 3- We bless God because he has blessed us with all spiritual blessings.
Verse 4- We were chosen by him before he even created the world.
Verse 5- According to his will, we are predestined to be adopted by him through his son Jesus.
Verse 6- It is by the glory of his grace that we are accepted in the beloved.
Verse 7- We have redemption through the blood that Jesus she'd for us and forgiveness of sins by his grace.
Verse 8- His grace abounds towards us with wisdom and prudence.
Verse 9- He makes his will known to us as he has pleasure.
Verse 10- He does this so his word will be fulfilled and we have unity in Christ.

Application:
God chooses us and sets us apart for his glory according to his purpose.

Prayer:
Dear God,
Thank you for choosing me. Help me to live according to your will and may my life bring you glory.

Prompt:
Who is one person you think God put into your life for a reason (and what is that reason?)

Answer:
Ecclesiastes 3:1
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

I believe there is a reason for every single person in my life, both good and bad. Every acquaintance and encounter, even if just for a fraction of a second has God's good purpose in my life.

Of course, I have had people that stand out to me as extra special gifts from God. One of these people is my best friend’s mother. I say this for more than one reason. She really helped me through some difficult times. In return I was able to be with the family and say goodbye to her when she left this earth. It was strange. It felt like a divine appointment. I was supposed to be there. While her family couldn't find the words, I was able to speak for all of us.

Do you have a list of inspirational quotes that you might refer to for guidance? Share one with us!

I don't have a “go-to” list of quotes. Quotes can be fascinating sometimes. I tend to like a lot of Dr. Seuss quotes. There are a few that stand out to me. One of my favorite quotes when I was a young adult was “Talk softly but carry a big stick.” This was a quote by Theadore Roosevelt.

My favorite Dr. Seuss quote is, “Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.”

My mother had a thing for Sir Walter Scott’s quote, “Oh What A Tangled Web We Weave, When first we practice to deceive” she quoted this quote so many times especially when I got myself into trouble at school. Interestingly enough, this was a quote used in a poem by Sir Walter Scott before it was used by William Shakespeare in Macbeth.

I find it interesting to look up the origin of things, not just quotes. There are some really fascinating stories on how some things came about.

Scripture writing - 2 Corinthians 3:12-18

Scripture:
12 Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:
13 And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.
17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Observations:
Verse 12- We have so much hope in Jesus Christ. This hope allows us to speak plain and boldly.
Verse 13- We are able to show God's glory without covering our face like Moses did.
Verse 14- Because of Christ, the veil has been removed. We are no longer blinded to God's glory like the children of Israel we're.
Verse 15- Even now they have a veil over their heart so that they can not see the truth.
Verse 16- When they turn to the Lord, the veil will be removed from their heart.
Verse 17- There is freedom where the Spirit of the Lord.
Verse 18- We are changed by the Spirit of the Lord as we read the Bible. The Bible acts as a mirror and shows us who we really are and shows us the glory of God.

Application:
We have so much hope in Christ that we can boldly and plainly proclaim the gospel. We are spiritually blind until we turn our hearts towards Jesus. When we turn towards Jesus, the blindness goes away and we are able to see the truth clearly. The Holy Spirit helps us grow and change into the image of Christ as we spend time with him. The Bible acts as a mirror so that we can see ourselves for who and what we really are and it reveals God's glory to us like Moses was able to see his glory.

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Let us walk close to you. Let us see ourselves and change into your likeness. Let us boldly tell others about Christ.
In Jesus ‘s name,
Amen

Prompt: What do you think about deadlines? Do they encourage us to act or are they unnecessarily disturbing?

Sometimes deadlines are necessary. I look at them like a challenge. At times, they can be annoying. However, for the most part, I think they motivate us to get things done. They help us be more productive and organized.

Since it 4th of July this weekend, write about this poem in your entry this weekend.

I know it must be very difficult to be so far away from the ones you love and you know love you. It is no wonder soldiers form such strong bonds amongst themselves with each other while on duty. I wish soldiers didn't have to leave their families behind, everyone does it because they know it's for the greater good. We should be supportive of our soldiers and their families.

Day 3152: July 3, 2021

Prompt: Write about the Dog Days of Summer

I Googled the Dog Days of Summer just to see what I would find. I came across this interesting gem. https://www.almanac.com/content/what-are-dog-days-summer This explains exactly what it is and the origin. It is quite an interesting read.

I was always under the assumption that they were the lazy days of summer because it was too hot to want to do anything. So all the dogs and humans want to do is sleep. 🤷‍♀️ This story came from my mother. She was sometimes a strange one.

For my blog

Take UP Your Cross

Prompt:
When you get to heaven, what is one question you will ask God?

Answer:
I don't really think I will need to ask many questions. I honestly think, there will be a special understanding, a knowing. There will be a contentment. There will no longer be a need to know or understand earthly things.

1 Corinthians 1:27
But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

Isaiah 55:8-9
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Proverbs 16:4
The Lord hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

A lot of people want to ask, “Why?” (One little word, and one big question.)

God knows I don't have all the answers. I don't think I want to have all the answers either. I don't think I want that responsibility.

I have been learning some things in my walk with God though lately. I was asking him, “Why?” He answers guys! We can sit on our beds and have conversations with him. It may not be the same kind of conversation you and I have with each other, but we honestly don't have to wait to ask him questions. He answers in his way and his time but he does answer. The Bible says his sheep know his voice.

Anyway, I was asking God why he allowed me to go through so much and why my parents were the way they were. I asked him why do some people seem to have better lives than others and why some people suffer more than others?

He opened my understanding through a series of things. I dreamed dreams. I read Scripture. I heard conversations and watched documentaries. He also asked me some questions.

Would I be the same person I am today had I not gone through all I went through? If I had different parents, how would things be different? Would I know or understand some of the same things I do now without those experiences? What choices would I have made differently?

I think I realized that he had me on his spindle, molding me, shaping me, and reforming me into what I am today. I had the particular parents I had because God wanted to use them to form something special in me. They were one of his tools.

Bad things happen because man is sinful. God allows them because he has given man a free choice. God is sovereign. Evil men may be the tools he chooses to use to form his masterpieces. He used evil men to crucify Jesus and bring us Salvation.

Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Every man will be judged in the end rather his deeds were evil or good. So we know that God will take vengeance on the evil things that were done to us. However, we know that when we suffer, we are promised good will come from it, especially if we suffer for the cause of Christ.

We have such hope and security in Jesus Christ!

PROMPT July 2nd

We've all read about them, we all probably have a favorite. Do you? Tell us about your favorite conspiracy theory. If you don't have one, tell us about one you recall.

Wow! Conspiracy theories is quite the topic. I know of several of them. As a Christian who reads my Bible daily, I find the conspiracy theories on the end times the most fascinating.

I think some theories may be true while a lot of them are not. I think sometimes people have a big imagination and blow things way out of proportion.

For the record, I don't believe the covid vaccine is the mark of the beast. The Bible says this mark will be placed in the right hand and forehead. My vaccine was placed in my left forearm. There is a little distance between those places.

Do I trust our government 100%? No, I do not. I think it is very possible there could be something sinister about the virus and the vaccines that we don't know. Was the virus released intentionally or was it accidentally developed and released? Was it an act of nature? I don't know. What do you think?

Do you think the USA is hiding coffins and guillotines to behead Christians?

What is this New World Order? Some people thought it was just a conspiracy theory at one time. This is a real organization with a real agenda.

Who is the Illuminati? Are Free Masons a part of it? Are all the stars in Hollywood and famous musicians a part of a secret society?

Who really runs this country? Who runs the world? Is it the president or monarchy? Or is there a secret group of rich people running everything? Are we just a bunch of sheep being herded into a slaughter?

Are aliens real? UFOs? Have people really been abducted?

Are there alternate realities? Are there gateways to other dimensions? Are people planning to reduce the world's population? Do you think the Georgia sun stones are a part of the Illuminati? Are there underground civilizations?

Was the USA truly founded by Christianity or is that a cover up for what it was really founded for?

Those are just a few that I know of. I am sure there are many more. I like to be aware of them just in case there are any truth to them, but I take them at face value and with a grain of salt so to speak. The truth will eventually be revealed in everything if you pay attention and are patient enough.

Scripture writing - 1 Corinthians 9:19-23

Scripture:
19 For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.
20 And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;
21 To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.
22 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.
23 And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.

Observations:
Verse 19-I don't serve man, but I do service for him so that I might reach him for Christ.
Verse 20-22- I became what other men were and brought myself to their level so they could be saved because of my actions.
Verse 23- I do this so others will go to heaven with me.

Application:
I do service for others so I can lead them to Christ and not to please people.

Prayer:
Dear God,
Help me to help others so that I may present them to you. Help my actions to be actions that lead others to you and not away from you.
In Jesus’s name,
Amen

Prompt: In what ways, do you think, helps and/or hurts the practice of looking and analyzing one’s past?

Looking at and analyzing one’s past can be both good and bad. It is bad if we dwell on the past too long and spend too much time there. It can be good if we learn from the past and avoid repeating previous mistakes.

Prompt: I remember one July day when I was ...
Finish the sentence and describe what happened.

I remember one July day when I was a little girl watching the fireworks for independence day. A firework went off prematurely and burned a man that was working near them in the field. He was ok, but I never forgot seeing it happen.
