I am feeling kind of fickle tonight. One reason is I feel overwhelmed right now. I have so much I need to do and don’t feel like I have the time or energy. I have been trying to figure out some solutions today. I have a couple of things in mind to try to make it better. I want/need to write. Writing is therapeutic for me. It helps me put and keep things in perspective. I am fighting anxiety and depression right now. This does not help the physical issues I am having and the mental /emotional issues are not helping the physical ones. 🤪 I feel extremely exhausted, physically and mentally.

I am supposed to write a fake news story for the rising star assignment. I should be able to do it with ease. However, I am overthinking it right now. I thought I would do it on the Rapture. I mean it would be interesting to experience such an event. I am thinking that would make quite a story. On the other hand, I am not sure what I myself think about it. If things are like they were in the days of Noah, only 8 people got on the boat. Will there really be that many people raptured?

I could also write it from a perspective of if it happened now. What would it be like if the rapture happened today? How many of us would be ready? Maybe I can write the pretend news story based on current times and events. What would it be like after the Rapture? I almost feel like I would need a sequel document to go with it. There are so many variable opinions of the Rapture and when and if it will occur. This would be like a scriptural and reference resource to the fake news story. Either way, the news story is fake.

I want to write with purpose and passion. I want even my fiction to mean something. I want to touch the souls of others with my writing.

I guess if I want to go Biblical, I could pick a story that already happened and create a fictional news story about that too. Hmmm! Maybe I will eventually still write something about the rapture too. Thanks for listening. I needed to think this through. I am still not fully decided but this helped.

I am thinking of trying to rearrange my normal schedule a bit, and reorganize my food supply and the way I have been doing my shopping. I have got to start eating healthier rather I want to or not. I seriously think I may have a food addiction and need to get counseling for that.

I also think I may need more counseling in letting some things go in my past. I keep having dreams about some things that make me feel there are some unresolved issues and I don't know how to process them right now. The dreams are disturbing with reoccurring themes.

If I wrote a book on my life up to this point, I don't want to just focus on all the craziness. I know it may help others to know they are not alone, but it is hard to bare all your deep dark secrets. Sometimes we have to make ourselves vulnerable. Other times, it is a choice. If nothing else I could write a book/journal about it here and see where it goes from there. I don't want to whine about all the bad things that have happened to me. Would it help others to know how I have coped, to know my mistakes and bad decisions, and to know how I believe God was with me all along? Maybe.

I may try to be good and have cleaned up my act quite a bit, but I am no saint. I am definitely a sinner saved by grace. I have been the hypocrite, the rebel, the foolish, the whore, etc... I have been angry at God and told him so. I have been molested, beaten, abused, near death, and suicidal. I got drunk and high and was promiscuous. I still struggle in the flesh.

Maybe it would be therapeutic for me to write about my life. (the good, the bad, and the ugly) On the other hand, it is risky. It is risky to say what I have just said. People fail all the time. We fail ourselves and we fail others. We don't always mean to, but we don't always do what we should do. We hurt others, especially those closest to us.

I guess I am feeling a bit cynical too. Tomorrow is already looking like a very busy day. I guess I had better wind down and go to bed. These are just some random thoughts going through my head.

For my blog

Take UP Your Cross

Prompt:
Tell about a time you’ve been hurt and how God has brought you towards forgiveness.

Answer:
This is going to shed some light on my response to the 30 day blogging challenge question below. Yesterday, I wrote a letter to an ex-boyfriend/fiance.
See the 30 day blogging challenge answer for yesterday. Well, right after this relationship, I got into a “rebound” relationship. The next guy that came along and showed me the attention I wanted, I got into a relationship with him. Big mistake! Don't ever do that. Give yourself time to heal and think straight. They say hindsight is 20-20.

I spent 3 years in a relationship with this guy. He only added to my problems.
He was controlling, verbally and emotionally abusive, and treated me like a convenience or inconvenience depending on his mood. I lived with him when he felt like it. Otherwise, I I stayed with my parents where I was miserable. Of they added to by making me feel bad for living with a guy outside of marriage. Here is where another of my miscarriages happened. In this case, thank God.

Oh I could say a whole lot more about it. Needless to say, it was not a good relationship. I finally got to a point that I felt like I was going to hurt myself or him if I didn't get out. I decided I had had enough. I left him. My best friends mom let me move in with them so I could get away from him and my parents both for awhile and could just breath a little. I so needed that.

Anyway, after that for awhile, I refused to be with a man. I had no desire to date them or be around them at all. All men tended to do was hurt me in one way or another. I went through several dark years. Previously, in life, I had been molested and raped. My dad had been physically abusive as well. Men were a source of pain.

I would only date women for awhile. My best friend and I even had a serious physical relationship together for a few years. I went to counseling as well during this time.

Finally, one day I decided I wanted to investigate religions. I explored different books, documentaries, and webpages about various religious beliefs and practices. In my own personal experience, everything led me back to Jesus Christ. I knew being in a same-sex relationship was a problem with Christianity. But denying the truth was hypocritical.

My return to Christ was a gradual one. It certainly was not helped by those condemning me to hell for being in a same sex relationship. I prayed. I decided that no matter what I would give myself Completely to God. No I did not end my relationship right away. It took a couple of years for that.

I started out getting in the habit of reading my Bible daily and praying regularly. It was through spending time alone with God that my heart was healed enough that I could begin to date men again and let the same-sex relationship go. It is through spending time with God that I was able to forgive all those hurts in the past. God is continuing to work bringing healing and forgiveness.

PROMPT July 21st

Your son(daughter) just gave you the surprise of your life when they brought their same-sex significant other home to meet you.
What is your reaction? Are you shocked, pleased, in denial?
How would you handle this?

Read entry above first.

Wow! Well this could be a touchy subject. Lol Sometimes it is good to discuss controversial subjects if we can all be mature enough to handle it and not be offended every time someone says something you don’t like or agree with. Some people would fly off the handle at just the thought of it.

Having said that, I will ask another question. Is it really any different than if your son or daughter said they were going to be a parent outside of marriage? I especially ask this of my other Christian friends. What if they came home drunk or high? Would it be any different? Would you love them any less? Would you disown them like some parents I know would? Would you lock them in a room and throw a bunch of Bibles at them? (This literally happened to someone I knew when they told their family they were bisexual.) This is something to truly think about and consider. What would Jesus do?

I think it would be good to sit down and have a conversation about what your beliefs are, why you believe that way, and how everyone feels about it. I think it should be done calmly and lovingly. Try not to point fingers. Find out if there is a peaceful compromise or solution to any issues.

Too many times, they are shunned, disowned, and belittled. Too many times they are committing suicide because they feel so bad about themselves, unloved, and rejected. I have heard too many stories and seen things too many times that were responses less than Christlike.

Ok? You consider yourself a Christian? What are the other church members going to think, right? I say to that, Who cares what other people think? This is your child, your own flesh and blood. You think they are going to Hell because of this. Do you seriously think that you rejecting them and putting them down is going to keep their soul out of Hell? If anything, it will send them there quicker. This isn’t going to go away just because you don't like it. Drive your kids away or try to love them and be there for them no matter what. That's your choices, like it or not.

Tell them you do not approve of their choices. That's fine. Tell them you disagree with them and you cannot in good conscience agree or enable that activity/decision. Don't disown or abandon them. They need you more now than ever. Who knows, you may have an opportunity to be a light in their darkness or their same-sex partners darkness. What actions will show them God's love? Remember, it was when we were yet in our sin that Christ died for every one of us.

Scripture writing - Psalms 119:45-48

Scripture:
45 And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts.
46 I will speak of thy testimonies also before kings, and will not be ashamed.
47 And I will delight myself in thy commandments, which I have loved.
48 My hands also will I lift up unto thy commandments, which I have loved; and I will meditate in thy statutes.

Observations:
Verse 45 - I seek God's laws and still find freedom in him.
Verse 46- I am not ashamed to speak of your testimonies in front of anyone.
Verse 47- I love God's commandments and am delighted in them.
Verse 48- I will meditate and think about God's laws and commandments. I will lift my hands and rejoice in them.

Application:
God's yoke is easy and his burden is light. It is a delight to follow his will and obey his commands. He is so worthy of praise.

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
I love you. Thank you for loving me. I love to read your word. It has come to mean so much to me. You are worthy of all my praise.
In christ’s name,
Amen

Today cruising through a corner of galactic space on a shuttle run, I encounter a star named Jordan Richelle (71) who writes an article to his wife Mitzi. It touched my heart because my sister's nickname was "Mitzy." She died of SIDS in 1974. So I'm honoring both Mitzy and Mitzi today. Write about love.

It seems like a lot of these blog prompts are going together today. Love is a theme it seems. In reality, nothing beats God's love. When you are anchored in his love, everything else will fall into place.

Day 3172: July 21, 2021

Prompt: Write a tribute to someone special in your life?

I have done a lot of writing today it seems. My best friend's mom was very special to me. She filled in the gaps for me where my mother lacked. My mother was jealous of her too. I have written about her somewhere previously. It must have been a little while back.

She helped me get out of the relationship I mentioned for my entry for take up your cross. She helped me in so many ways. In return, I was able to take care of her when she was sick with lung cancer. I was there even on the day she died. I will never forget her.

PROMPT July 20th

Write a letter to an old friend or lover that you’ll never send

Now we might be getting too personal. Lol You are digging kind of deep here. I will admit you are getting me outside of my comfort zone with some of these prompts. This is where you will learn something else about me I normally keep to myself.

Hey Mister,

You know who you are. You hurt me so deeply when you married the other woman. I cried for 2 days straight afterwards. I didn't want to live anymore without you. I loved you so much.

I had no control over how my parents treated you. I am sorry they were the way they were towards you. I am sorry I could not fit the mold of everything your parents wanted you to marry.

It is several years later and I am still in love with you. I still get butterflies whenever I get near you. I still feel the aching in my heart because I want you. You and I had a set of stillborn twins no one knew about. I wonder if you still love me when I look into your eyes.

When I look into those dark brown eyes of yours, here is what I see. I see a softness towards me. I see a pride towards your children. I see a sadness, a regret maybe. You won't say it because you are a good man and take your responsibility seriously. This is all the more reason I love you.

Maybe someday, you will come back to me. Until then, I will continue to love you and want you. No other man has ever measured up to you in any way, shape, or form. I am able to survive without you, but I still don't want to.

I still love you with all my heart,
Marvilla

PROMPT July 19th

In this entry, please don't share information that is very personal. That being said, what are some things that most people don’t know about you?

When I was a child, I was bullied in school. When I got older, I became the bully because I was tired of being the one bullied. As a preacher’s kid, I became a bit of a rebel. In my junior high and early high school years, I had some behavior issues. By the time I was a senior, they had gotten worked out mostly. My mom homeschooled me my last year. It worked out better for me because I could work at my own pace. It was a more laidback environment and mom made learning fun. So I wasn't so pressured as I was in school. Mom told me she didn't care how I did it just as long as I got it done. I wasn't limited to 8am to 3pm and I didn't have to sit still in one spot. I could listen to the radio and be myself a bit more. Plus I was able to have one on one learning. It wasn't that I wasn't intelligent. I just got distracted easily. I was a day dreamer. I have never been one to fit the mold. I have often been misunderstood even by my own family.

My dream was to go into Christian music and be a gospel singer. I either wanted to do that or be a writer.

I don't want to go into full details, but I have been pregnant before more than once. None of my pregnancies were full term. There were no infant survivals. Mother's Day is difficult for me. Most of my family members do not know. I kept my pregnancies secret. I don't like to talk about them.

I almost died at birth. I was not a full-term baby my. I was premature and delivered C-section. The cord was wrapped around my throat. I jaundiced and also had a blood transfusion. I had to have oxygen the first few days of my life.

PROMPT July 18th

Everyone likes to eat, some of us are picky if circumstances allow. Tonight, you're the cook, and you're preparing your favorite meal. What are you preparing for us? Share the recipe for it if you like

I am a person that likes variety. So it is hard for me to pick just one favorite meal. So for the purpose of this blog prompt, I am going to go with one of my childhood favorites. To a point, it is still one of my favorites.

My grandma maid this meal with me one day so it is one of sentimental value. We made mashed potatoes with white gravy. We had some great beans seasoned just right. Then she thought me how to make corn meal fried chicken.

You make it like any other fried chicken, but you coat it in cornmeal instead of anything else. You take a couple of eggs and beat them together in a shallow bowl. Some people like to add a little milk, salt, and pepper. Once you have your egg mixture, you get some cornmeal in a dish. You take the pieces of chicken, one at a time, dip them in the egg mixture and then dip them in the cornmeal until they are completely covered. You should already have some vegetable oil in a skillet ready to receive your chicken at this time. After the chicken has been coated with the egg mixture and cornmeal, you place it in your skillet. You cook it on low to medium heat covered until done. You will want to make sure the chicken is turned while cooking so it can cook evenly on both sides.

If you are the desert type of person, how about we top off that delicious meal with a piece of chocolate devil foods cake with whipped chocolate frosting. Now I know what meal I want for my birthday this year.

Oh, and since I am an Oklahoma girl, you know we got to serve that meal with some sweet iced tea. I think I might just add some dinner rolls at the last minute. Yummy!

My best friend’s dad used to say, “I can feel my arteries hardening as we speak.” lol And since I am a diabetic, I can feel my blood glucose getting out of target range too. Lol There went my A1C.

Take UP Your Cross

Prompt:
If you could give your younger self a piece of advice, what would it be?

Answer:
I would tell myself that it is ok to follow my dreams. So what if other people disagree or think that your desired career choice won’t lead to success? Money isn’t what you were pursuing anyway. You want to help people and use your talents to make a positive impact on other people’s lives. Go ahead and go to college for an English major and minor in music. Go ahead write, sing, and teach others music. So what if you are not successful and don't make a lot of money? You would be doing what makes you happy. You would be fulfilling your purpose. You would be serving God and not be confused about your place and purpose in the world. If it was God's will he would make a way even if your family disapproved and didn't agree to help you.

This guys, is my major regret in life. I hope this helps someone else not make the same mistake that I did. Now I am 44 and full of regret.

PROMPT July 17th

Tonight, you're a seer. Tell me (us) (predict, if you will) what's going to happen in the next 3-5 years.

I am sorry, but this is something I don't mess with due to religious beliefs. It might be fun to make believe, but I don't even want to mess with it in that way. I just personally don't desire to participate in this kind of activity for my own conscience’s sake.

Anyway, in my life right now, things are not very predictable. I hope to still be living in five years though. I don't plan to die anytime soon, but even that is not in my control.

Everything belongs to and is under the control of the one true God, creator of heaven and earth and everything in them.

Scripture writing - Psalms 107:10-12

Scripture:
10 Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron;
11 Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:
12 Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help.

Observations:
Verse 10- Those who are not saved, are bound by affliction and their destiny is darkness and death.
Verse 11- Those who are not saved, rebel against God's Word and are in contempt against him.
Verse 12- God will bring them down and their will be none to help.

Application:
You do not want to be an enemy of God.

Prayer:
Dear God,
Forgive me where I have failed you. Create a right heart within me. Let others be led to repentance and salvation by the things I say and do.
In Jesus's name,
Amen

After the recent incident in Florida with the condo collapse, how confident do you feel with housing construction? Do you agree there's a lot of gray area that unsuspecting homeowners don't know? Should contractors be held accountable for their construction or should it fall onto the owner at the time?

I think it depends on the circumstances. If the owner fails to maintain the property after so much time, it should fall on the owners head if they knew about the deficiency and did nothing to fix it. When they found out about the issue, that is when it is time to go after the contractors. On the other hand, contractors and construction workers need to be responsible for building things right too. Like I said, it depends on the circumstances. It is important to find out who was the one actually being neglectful?

Is this how we got Christmas in July? 🤔 lol just kidding.

I honestly have never heard of this one before. I personally think it is just Folklore, but I could be wrong.

Prompt:
When you think about reading the bible, what is the first feeling that comes to mind?

Answer:
Anticipation: I anticipate spending time with God's Word. I look forward to what he will reveal to me and to hear him speak personally to me. I feel privilege to be able to read his word for myself. Not only did I receive an education allowing me the ability to do so. People gave their life so that it could be translated into my language. The Bible is so precious. I never want to take it for granted.

PROMPT July 16th

Here we are, half way through the month already! This is what I hope is a different sort of prompt. Almost everyone has them, so tell us about your favorite restaurant. In the past, mine have been Pappadeaux, Abuelos, Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, and others. Do you have any?

Sometimes, my favorite restaurant can vary with my mood. It depends on what I am hungry for at the moment. We have been blessed to have a very large variety of restaurants in the United States. I guess I will try to name my favorite in differed categories.

Bar-B-Que restaurants: I like Earl’s and Billy Sim’s. It is a toss-up between the 2.

Hamburger joints: This is a tough one. I have several favorites. I like Whataburger, Braum’s, Old Fashioned Diner, and Sonic.

Mexican food: I like Chileno’s.

Pizza - Cici’s, Pizza Hut, and Domino's are my favorite pizza places.

Diners: Moma Lous, Madison’s, and All American Diner are my favorites.

Buffets: The Feast and Golden Corral. Western Sizzlin’ Steak House used to be a favorite until they closed.

Steakhouses: Santa Fe Steakhouse

Fast food: Subway, Wendy's, Taco Tico, and Chic-fil-a.

Chinese: Panda Express hands down is my favorite here.

Hot Dogs: Coney Island in downtown Oklahoma City. Yummy! They make the best Greek chili there too.

I love trying new food and new restaurants. Like I said, there are so many to choose from.

Scripture:
3 But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God: yea, let them exceedingly rejoice.

5 A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.
6 God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

Observations:
Verse 3- The righteous should always rejoice before God.
Verse 4- We should sing his praises.
Verse 5- God is a good father and a righteous judge.
Verse 6- God provides for his own.

Application:
We should continually praise God for his goodness and mercy.

Write about a mysterious figure in one’s neighborhood.

In fact, there is a man that has been going around at night trying to get in single women's apartments wearing a hoodie and all black. No one knows who he is, but I bet my dog could identify him. He walked into our apartment when my roommate was home alone. He didn't realize we had a dog until he met her. She is a little 20 pound Chiweenie dog, but she can be a force to be reckoned with when she is wound up. She got her a little bite that time. She got lots of love and treats when I got home because she defended our home and my roommate. She knew the man was up to no good.

PROMPT July 15th

There have been many influencers on you as you have aged. Tonght, write about the person who has had the greatest impact on your life.

I guess the biggest influence in my life outside of my natural family has been my best friend. She is the one person who knows me better than anyone and I would trust her with my money and my life. She has never given me a reason to not trust her and plenty of reasons to trust her.

She knows my deepest darkest secrets, and I know hers. We have been through a lot together. We live as roommates in the same apartment. We have been there for each other through thick and thin. I’d say she is closer than a sister to me.

Prompt: Write about your opinion of the world.

I am not sure we want some people’s opinions. Lol I believe the way God made it originally, it was good. Then Satan and men’s sin came along and corrupted it. Obviously, it isn't a perfect world now. In God's timing, it will be restored to perfection when Christ reigns the earth. Until then, it will continue to be imperfect.

PROMPT July 14th

We all celebrate holidays of some type. Which one of the lesser known holidays is your favorite? (You cannot talk about Christmas/Thanksgiving or their equivalent in your country in this entry.)

It seems as of late, I don’t really celebrate holidays much. Since my parents died, I don’t really have the family get togethers. Most cousins live in another state. My best friend doesn’t have much family either. A lot of the time we just spend time together and don’t do much. July 4th used to be a favorite for me when I was a kid. I dreaded some holidays. Holidays, lesser known or otherwise just aren’t the same unless you have people to celebrate them with. I can’t say I really have much to say on this topic. I do try to make the most of every moment of every day. So if I truly desire to celebrate a holiday, even if I am alone I will celebrate it in my own way.

23 He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.

Proverbs 29:5-6
5 A man that flattereth his neighbour spreadeth a net for his feet.
6 In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.

I personally believe in the saying, “You only live once!” I believe everyone is given one life to live. I do not believe in reincarnation. Hmmm! Maybe this is how we get multiple personality disorder. We have a whole lot of different personalities in one body. All that reincarnating confuses some people. Lol No, I am just joking. PROMPT July 13th

We've all loved someone deeply. Tonight, instead of writing about your love for someone else, write about being loved.

Oops! I got so caught up in trying to finish writing the Bible study I am working on, I almost forgot to write in my blog.

Anyway, for me, I am loved by Jesus Christ my Savior. He gave himself for me so that my soul can have eternal life and I can have a relationship with God the Father. God the Father loves me so much he sent his son. Then Christ sent the Holy Spirit who lives in me and makes me aware of his love regularly. I don't think there is more perfect love then that.

I know my best friend loves me too. Her actions show it.

I have cousins that love me also.

I guess I don't focus as much on receiving love as I do on giving it. I know I am loved by God. I love the person I have become, and it makes it easier for me to love others.
