Review of Awake

The poem paints a picture in words of the gradual change from the time night makes way to the dawn of a new day. It is not uncommon to see people enjoying the new dawn from the bed soon after waking and this poem is a fine example of that.

The poem is a good example of how to loose weight and look trim and neat. The Indiana Banana is quite lucky to have had
a wonderful friend in Mini Soda from Oklahoma with whose help the Banana has been able to achieve the desired result.

The poems makes for an interesting read.

Review of Snow day

Despite the chill and the cold, winter is always welcome to many (except for those whose health does not accept the wintry cold) and children always welcoming the season because of Christmas and the gifts they expect to receive, getting time to create snowman and playing in the drifting snow and sled racing. The poem brings out all these interesting factors in a fitting fashion.

An interesting poem comparing the hibernating animals with human beings, and how both differ in their adaptability when winter comes. The descriptions make it an enjoyable read.

It only goes to prove that man-made articles and contraptions fetch much more and become highly valuable when they grow old unlike the human beings who become expensive to maintain and it costs high even to dispose. What a contrast between machines of age and of human beings.

Friendship formed in the innocent years of childhood most often lasts longer and stays on to be cherished in later life to enjoy in a bliss of nostalgia. Even when we see children walk around bound in selfless love, we feel a sense of joy that springs spontaneously. The poem conveys this message very effectively.

Many times we experience fear with any real cause. Such fears turn out to be imaginary when the reality comes to the fore. People do feel in a similar fashion whenever there is a new beginning for them. And as you have realised, there are good human beings like the teacher in the poem who really care for their wards.

It is clearly understood that when pets are adopted, they are taken for life and not to be left to fend for themselves midway through their life according to convenience of one who adopts it. Written from the point of view a pet abandoned, the poem is a true statement of what adoption is intended to be.

The arrow must have got so confused with the words spun here to show the beauty of the English language, it must have missed its mark while trying the understand the numerous similar sounding words.

A very interesting poem about winter and the winter scenes are nicely brought out in fine detail. The poem also talks about spring that will arrive with the departure of winter.

It seems totally one-sided and a relationship with one who seems to be whimsical and unpredictable.

I had no idea of this type of poem. I would not have known if there had been no clear explanations of how the poem is to be written. Thanks on that account.

Now to the substance of the poem. It brings out the absolute truth about environmental degradation all around, the sea not being left out. The poem emphasises the various issues of how the sea has suffered pollution and how the future generations will see the sea if the present situation continues. A poem with a warning to the present generation.

A poem full of feelings for the one whose absence is felt very much and how there is a craving to be with the one who is missing.

There are times in a writer's days when he struggles to get the words and ideas from the mind on to the paper, but suffers failure. The pen hangs above the paper and the paper remains as white as it was, without a word written on it. But I am sure it is just a passing phase and soon the creative mind will be able to come alive and the blank paper will be full with meaningful and entertaining words. One has to wait for the time.

I agree with what is stated in the first stanza of the poem. I fall in your group. I can write fairly well (if you care to see my portfolio), but when it comes to speaking on stage, my tongue wouldn't move, and perspiration makes its presence and I decide to quit. So I keep myself to writing. Thanks for sharing your thoughts through this poem.

A nice poem about the wonderful, delicious food cooked by the grandma and how it is very inviting. A person who has a grandma like this is certainly a very lucky man and a blessed one too.

Review of Separations

One cannot escape relationship when one lives in a community, society or even in a small group. We come into contact with a variety of people, but we become quite close with some and bond with them. In such circumstances, separation causes pain and anguish. It is unavoidable. It is difficult to be a recluse when one lives amongst people. But as rightly pointed out, each separation leaves something to be cherished, remembered and new acquaintances are bound to happen.

As observed in the article, it is certainly shameful to see that the game has degenerated and has become suspect when matches are won or lost. Max fixing is a curse and it kills the joy of spectators who want the best team to win. Despite all-out efforts to end this menace, it has managed to survive to haunt us.

The last two sentences contain the essence of the whole text of the matter. The world had its say in the end and emerged victorious. The essence of the title too comes out wonderfully in a reading of the entire text.

It is a natural experience of a kid when going to bed bed with no lights on. Imagination surfaces and all kinds of weird images spring from nowhere, but when the nightlight comes on, they vanish driving the fear. A nostalgic poem of kid going to bed at night.

Review of My Son

A very nice and loving poem about a son by his father. It gives a thrill to watch children grow up and become adolescents and later grow up to guide the parents who once guided their children. It is a cycle of events everyone goes through.
