 The simplicity of my day to day. |
| Prompt: Random words- have fun with : deadly, wing, navy, cruelty, guard, evening, costume, tidy, and quarrel. All the nice girls love a sailor or so the song goes. I think it’s their costume or should I say neat and tidy uniforms . During the war the yanky sailors would come to ports both in the UK and Australia and steal the girls hearts with their deadly good looks and charm. The navy boys would sail in to port after months at sea, seeking fun. They’d get drunk and get into quarrels and fights with irate boyfriends who were on their guard ready to fight for their girl. Sometimes they’d also have to compete with the airforce boys wearing their wings upon their pilots caps who thought they were the ones who ruled the skies and were winning the war. But there was a certain cruelty in the way they’d vanish with the tide, leaving only broken promises and lipstick-stained memories behind. On more than one evening, the pubs would erupt into chaos as jealous locals and brazen sailors clashed under dim lights and loud music. |
