Mum
Prompt: The last time I saw---- it's your entry have fun!

I remember so well the last time I saw my mother. I had spent six weeks with her, staying with her, even sleeping with her, in her one bedroom apartment. We knew she was dying when I left Australia to be with her. I took my 12 year old daughter with me to say goodbye to her beloved Mamma. Mum was well enough to go out and still have fun. We laughed and cried and spoke about everything, said everything there was to say.
And then it was time to leave. My brother collected us from Mums place to take me and my daughter to the airport.
The last time I saw my mum she was standing at the gate waving. I turned to look through the rear window as we drove away and I told myself to take a mind photograph. I blinked hard, just like the shutter in a camera and I have that ‘photograph’ any time I want to look at my mum. I can see what she is wearing down to the last detail and can see her face, smiling through her tears.
That was 30th August 1985. She died on December 27th the same year.
