The history of Prosperous Snow written for the group Reminiscences |
An Oklahoma Winter In anticipation of snow my Grandmother cocooned me in layers of warm wool, bundled me in strata of socks, sweaters, leggings, slacks, mittens, coats, head scarves, and ear muffs to protect me from the arctic cold of an Oklahoma winter. In anticipation of snow, I inhaled the crisp morning air, and savoring the frigid succulence I waited for the first white flakes to melt on my extended tongue. Poet's Note: ▶︎ |
